Dane Carlson



Dane Carlson is a landscape designer and researcher. His work examines and works within landscapes of climate crisis and disaster making in Nepal, focusing on the transformative agencies of people on the ground. Recent work with collaborators Yungdrung Tsewang Gurung and Sonam Lama examines the ongoing retreat of a small Himalayan village, and has been funded by grants from the Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts and the Landscape Research Group. Carlson was a Fulbright Scholar in Nepal and has worked with organizations including the United Nations Office for Project Services in Kathmandu. His work is published in the Journal of Landscape Architecture, Landscape Research Journal, Thresholds Journal, and other publications.
