ARCH 419: International Housing Studio

Students in this section of the International Housing Studio designed housing in Chicago. The course aims to deepen students’ understanding of the importance of the climatic, social, and cultural dimension of a specific city in relation to forms of dwelling collectively in an urban setting. Students develop housing proposals that not only engage with the particularities of each site, but also challenge traditional ways of living to give response to new family structures and to an increasing interest and need for collaborative living.
