Window Seat Suprematism
Window Seat Suprematism, a suite of five aquatint etchings, is part of a larger body of work by Nina Katchadourian titled Seat Assignment that consists of photographs, video, and sound works, all made in flight using only a camera phone and improvising with materials close at hand. Derived from photographs taken on flights when she has a window seat over the wing, these compositions abide by the principles of abstraction as put forth by the Russian avant-garde in the early twentieth century.
