Fox Fridays: Centrifugal Casting Pt. 1
This is a two-day workshop conducted by 2022-23 Louis D. Beaumont Artist-in-Residence Anika Todd. Part 2 can be found here
In this workshop we will learn a lost-wax casting process that can be used to create small sculptures and jewelry designs. We will begin by creating wax objects and will work through the necessary mold-making process to transform this material into a bronze casting.
In the first section of the course we will create the mold. First we will work with wax to fabricate our designs, next we will learn to create molds for casting with investment plaster. Our molds will then be sent to the kiln to burnout our wax models and prepare them for the second session.
