2023-09-01 • Sam Fox School
The Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts at Washington University in St. Louis has announced the fall 2023 line-up of Fox Fridays. The weekly, low-stress workshop series encourages participants to explore new tools, resources, processes, and ideas. The interdisciplinary workshops are open to the entire WashU community.
“Since its inception in 2019, Fox Fridays have been very popular among our students,” says Associate Professor Jonathan Hanahan, who co-directs the series with Assistant Professor Kelley Van Dyck Murphy. “The workshops are a fun, low-key opportunity to try something new and spark creativity in an unexpected way.”
The fall 2023 series kicks off Friday, September 8 with a workshop led by architecture student Orion Strayer, BS ’24, on Grasshopper, a visual programming plug-in for the 3D modeling software Rhino. It continues with workshops ranging from experimental cinema and video art to 3D printing to letterpress and the art of Japanese Boro—the art of visible mending.
Workshops are free, but registration is required. For more information and to register, click here.
The fall 2023 Fox Fridays are made possible by the generous support of the Brabson Library & Educational Foundation.
