Velez awarded Frankenthaler Climate Art Awards
Multidisciplinary artist Alexa Velez (MFA-VA21) was named a recipient of the 2022 Frankenthaler Climate Art Awards, which aim to foster climate change awareness through the imagination and insights of an upcoming generation of visual artists. Each of the three winners will receive $15,000 and be honored this month in Washington, D.C. on the occasion of Asia Society’s COAL + ICE exhibition.

Cold Shoulder an exhibition featuring work by alum Rachel Rickert (BFA12) and Alexandra Smith will be happening on Saturday, April 9 at Auxier Kline, New York. Exhibition on view through May 7.
Sam Fox School members in Grounding the Green New Deal exhibition
On Saturday, April 9 Grounding the Green New Deal: A Summit on Design, Policy, and Advocacy exhibition will feature student projects from Sam Fox School studios led by faculty members L. Irene Compadre, Patty Heyda, Derek Hoeferlin, and Linda C. Samuels, all of which responded to the Green New Deal Superstudio at National Building Museum, Washington, D.C.
