Samuels and Hoal featured in St. Louis Post-Dispatch article
In this article in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, associate professor Linda Samuels and professor John Hoal weigh in on how the high-rise building boom in downtown Clayton could impact residents, businesses, and the city character. “…Places can change much faster than they’re willing to admit—if they’re willing to try,” says Samuels. “And that involves policy, political will, some financial investment. Some willingness to take risks.”
Portlock and Blaize’B collaborate on InSITE STL installation
Professor Tim Portlock (chair, undergraduate art) and Blaize'B (BFA19) recently collaborated on The Fatted Noonan as part of InSITE STL. The multi-story digital projection paid homage to and illuminated the forgotten history of the building that once existed at the site, which is now DUC Park. It marks the first of three multi-story scaled animations on buildings in downtown St. Louis that Portlock will collaborate on with other artists who have ties to St. Louis.
Dawson featured panelist on Women’s Studio Workshop
Lecturer Sage Dawson will be featured in Women’s Studio Workshop virtual panel discussion as one of the four panelists who have cultivated contemporary exhibition spaces in unexpected and unusual spaces around the country. The event will be happening on March 23 at 6p CDT via link. Other panelists include Lukaza Branfman-Verissimo, Alex Lukas, and Imin Yeh.
Opening exhibition of Jones and Wallace's work at Forest Park Gallery of Contemporary Art
Opening reception for ‘Victories and Memory Loss’ the individual and collaborative work by Amelia Jones (MFA09, instructional technician and Island Press studio administrator) and Janice Wallace on March 25, 6p at Forest Park Gallery of Contemporary Art. Work will be on view through April 14.
Bruno David Gallery features members of the Sam Fox School community
Opening Reception for new exhibitions at Bruno David Gallery including Good Will Combines by Cindy Tower, Allusive by William Conger, Remix by Chris Kahler, Gone Fishing by senior lecturer Tom Reed and Surmatants-Mars Rising by Andréa Stanislav (2015-16 Freund Teaching Fellow) happening this Saturday, March 26 5-8p CDT. Works will be on view through June 18.
Stouffer and Mendoza interactive exhibition at G-CADD
Exhibition #28 at Granite City Art and Design District includes Beasts, an interactive, layered environment created by senior lecturer Lindsey Stouffer and Joanna Mendoza. The exhibition opens on Saturday, Match 26 6p at Granite City, IL. Work will be in view through May 14.
Gupta’s solo show at Sandy Spring Museum
Solo exhibition of work by Trisha Gupta Neurodiversity: Biodiversity will open on Sunday, March 27 at Sandy Spring Museum, MD. Work will be on view through May 30.

Planet Earth, the Environment and Our Future will be on view from Saturday, March 19 through Sunday, May 1, 2022 featuring artists including Joan Hall (Kenneth E. Hudson Professor Emerita of Art).
