Colangelo's Exhibition Opens at Bruno David Gallery
This or That, an exhibition of new paintings, monoprints, and watercolors by Carmon Colangelo (Ralph J. Nagel Dean, Sam Fox School), opens from 6-8p September 3 at Bruno David Gallery, along with James Austin Murray: Hue, Brightness, and Saturation and Lisa K. Blatt: Untitled. The exhibitions will remain on view through October 16.
Alumni Pierce and Lebo Lead Events at The Pulitzer
As part of First Fridays at the Pulitzer Arts Foundation, local artist Tucker Pierce (BFA15) will be creating sewn portraits for visitors to take home from 5-8:30p September 3, while Rachel Lebo (MFA-VA19) will lead the Flora and Figure Drawing Workshop.
Blumenfeld Discusses Island Press Prints
Erika Blumenfeld discussed the prints she’s making with Island Press in this recorded talk for the PHaEDRA Summer Art Series, presented by Wolbach Library at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics. Blumenfeld was the Arthur L. and Sheila Prensky Island Press Visiting Artist in spring 2021.
Folklore, a solo exhibition of new paintings by Marisa Adesman (BFA13), is on view through September 11 at Anat Ebgi Gallery in Los Angeles.
Upcoming Screenings of Ćosić's Films
Screenings of several films by Zlatko Ćosić (MFA-VA11) will take place in September. Illusive Echoes and Descend will screen at the ALC Videoart Festival (Museum of Contemporary Art of Alicante, Spain) from August 31-September 4. Fire Ecologies, created with Christopher Stark and Unheard-of Ensemble, will premiere at Brooklyn’s Gowanus Canal (New York) 6:30-9p EDT September 18.
