Associate professors Chandler Ahrens, Constance Vale, and Kelley Van Dyck Murphy — founders of the architecture firm AVV A — won an American Architecture Award from The Chicago Athenaeum for their work on The Key. The midtown St. Louis project adapts a former market into a vibrant music venue and restaurant.
The American Architecture Award is among the most prestigious public awards today. Since 1994, The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design, together with The European Center for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies and Metropolitan Arts Press, have organized the awards to honor the best, new significant buildings, landscape, and planning projects designed and/or built in the U.S. and abroad.
