Casey Ryan, proposal for international potluck in Tower Grove East.
Casey Ryan, MArch17, has been awarded the spring 2017 CityStudioSTL Student Award, which will support her continued collaboration with the Tower Grove East Neighborhood Association.
As part of the course Developing Sustainable Urban Communities (taught by professor of practice Hank Webber, assistant professor Molly Metzger, and lecturer Matt Bernstine, MUD14), Ryan worked with four classmates to put together a proposal to diversify the community voices engaged in the neighborhood association. They proposed a walking tour of the neighborhood, a community potluck, and a cookbook that can serve as a symbol of inclusivity in the neighborhood. With support from CityStudioSTL, Ryan will create a first edition of the cookbook (which includes 20 recipes) and host a potluck in the neighborhood during summer 2017.
