Counterpublic festival features Sam Fox School community

Counterpublic, the public art triennial, will host a three-day festival this month called The Circus of Life, convening artists, thinkers, and advocates to imagine new ways of being together in the world through workshops, conversations, and community space. Matt Bernstine, director of the school’s Office for Socially Engaged Practice, and Senior Lecturer Melisa Betts Sanders will contribute to a workshop on design for social intervention. Graduate art student Brittni Mosby is also involved with the festival as a Counterpublic fellow, part of the school’s CityStudioSTL fellowships.
Further Sam Fox School connections include the artist booth for Bad Drawing Club, founded and co-organized by Assistant Professor Shreyas R Krishnan, along with a community table hosted by 4theVille, a community heritage organization led by architecture alumnus Aaron Williams. Counterpublic is led by James McAnally, another WashU alumnus.
