John Hendrix, the Kenneth E. Hudson Professor of Art and Chair of the MFA in Illustration & Visual Culture program, is a nominee for Comic-Con’s Will Eisner Comic Industry Award. Named for acclaimed comics creator Will Eisner and regarded as the most prestigious and significant awards in the comic industry, the awards recognize the best publications and creators in comics and graphic novels.
Hendrix’ graphic novel, “The Mythmakers: The Remarkable Fellowship of C.S. Lewis & J.R.R. Tolkien” (Abrams Fanfare, 2024), is among five other selections in the Best Reality-Based Work category, and 150 titles nominated for awards.
The 2025 Eisner Awards will be presented July 25 during Comic-Con. The judging panel consists of editor/journalist/publisher Robert V. Conte, graphic novel librarian Kacy Helwick, review editor Meg Lemke, comics retailer Eitan Manhoff, and educator Rocco Versaci.
