Emily Eid

Emily Eid became disabled at the age of eighteen after contracting an infection, which resulted in permanent chronic illnesses. At the same time, she developed unrelated spinal degeneration, nerve damage, and arthritis. She turned to art as a way to work through her pain and confusion. She creates artwork in solidarity with her community, artwork that makes able-bodied people confront their discomfort, fear, and misconceptions about disability.
