Alex Evets

Alex Evets currently serves as the Admissions Counselor for the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts. In that role, he meets talented young artists, budding designers, and future architects from all over the country and effusively and earnestly makes the case to them that St. Louis, Missouri is a wonderful place for them to achieve their goals. He works with students through all stages of the admissions cycle and is happy to set up a portfolio review or answer questions about art and architecture school admissions. Alex also serves as one of two pre-college program administrators for the Sam Fox School’s Portfolio Plus and Architecture Discovery Programs.

Alex is an artist who often finds himself mystified with the circumstances of his daily life. His work—which is often self-deprecating, humorous, or quietly critical—always comes from a place of love and curiosity. His practice, which is malleable, is rooted in his background as a sculptor and printmaker, although he has recently rediscovered his love of drawing and collage. Recent solo shows include presentations of work at the Edison Avenue Art Lofts in Granite City, Illinois and at Cunst Gallery in St. Louis.
