Rui Guo
Rui Guo is an architectural and landscape designer with balanced expertise in concept design and parametric-driven methodologies. His design philosophy harmonizes architectural systems with ecosystem services, focusing on environmentally sustainable projects that are sensitive to client needs, cultural contexts, economic factors, and local environments. He started the Innovation and Research Team at Christner Architects. Guo is dedicated to improving workflows, automating processes, and implementing parametric design to enhance design efficiency and quality.
Guo is particularly interested in balancing conventional design thinking with parametric thinking, while responsibly integrating AI to enhance design quality. He believes these combined approaches have the potential to fundamentally transform design methodologies to address challenges of the present.
Guo earned his bachelor’s degree from Xi’an University of Architecture & Technology and master’s degrees in architecture and landscape architecture from the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts at Washington University in St. Louis, where he received the AIA Henry Adams Medal for Academic Excellence.
