Fox Fridays: Build a Contact Microphone
Contact microphones sense audio vibrations through contact with solid objects. Essential to many practices within the world of sound art, these little DIY wonders can detect audio that many traditional air microphones could not. Using provided materials students will assemble and test their very own contact mic.
Instructor: Alex Braden is a first-year MFA in Visual Art student working in sound, performance, composition, and new media installation.
Cross-disciplinary Connections Sound, performance, music, DIY electronics.
