Kemper Refresh: Therapeutic Horticulture
Inspired by the exhibition Carolina Caycedo: Growing Deep Roots, the Kemper Art Museum and Missouri Botanical Garden invite visitors to explore their relationship with the natural world. Through a guided gallery visit with Museum educators and nature-based activities from the Garden’s Therapeutic Horticulture program, visitors will have opportunities to slow down and creatively engage their senses. An invitation to explore the Washington University Arboretum will extend that experience beyond the gallery and into the campus landscape.
Like the exhibition, Therapeutic Horticulture encourages us to view nature not simply as a resource but as a living entity to which we are deeply connected. By creating opportunities to experience, reflect on, and care for the natural world, this collaboration connects Caycedo’s exploration of environmental stewardship with the Garden’s commitment to using plants and nature to preserve and enrich life.
