Stas Orlovski: Arthur L. and Sheila Prensky Island Press Visiting Artist Lecture
Stas Orlovski will deliver the 2026 Arthur L. and Sheila Prensky Island Press Visiting Artist Lecture as part of the Sam Fox School’s Public Lecture Series at WashU.
As the Fall 2026 Arthur L. and Sheila Prensky Island Press Visiting Artist, Orlovski will complete a week-long residency working alongside students in Island Press, a research-based printmaking workshop at WashU that is committed to creating and publishing innovative prints and multiples, educating students and the broader community about print media, and advancing the printmaking field.
About Stas Orlovski
Stas Orlovski is a Los Angeles-based artist whose work includes drawing, painting, sculpture, and animation. Born in the former Soviet Republic of Moldova, his family fled to Tel Aviv, then Paris, to eventually settle in Toronto. Orlovski earned a BFA from York University, a B.Ed from the University of Toronto and an MFA from the University of Southern California. He has exhibited widely including at the 56th Venice Biennale. Orlovski’s work is represented in private and public collections including LACMA, the Crocker Art Museum, Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, Houston Museum of Fine Arts, and the Progressive Corporation. Awards, fellowships, and residencies include Skowhegan, Yaddo, Art Omi, COLA Individual Artist Fellowship, California Community Foundation Getty Fellowship, Center for Cultural Innovation Grant, and the Joan Mitchell Foundation Painters & Sculptors Grant.
