Design Detox Make-A-Thon | Sustainable Fashion Week
Calling designers from all areas of the University to participate in a sustainable fashion Project Runway-style experience. In collaboration with the Alt Ball 2025 organizers, this year’s Design Detox winners will be chosen at a fashion show in Weil Hall’s Keuhner Court on Sunday, March 30 and will display their work at the 2025 Alt Ball on May 15, in the Big Top.
We will provide waste materials (textiles, used clothes) for creatives to design to the theme: RINGLEADER. Encouraged to draw inspiration from international fashion houses, Club Kids, underground ball culture and personal expression alike, this is an opportunity to go big, over-the-top, avant-garde. The goal is to use materials otherwise destined for the landfill and draw from a diverse set of artists to surprise with distinct and standout looks that may not fit the mold of a traditional runway. Designs may be for any gender expression and are not limited to a particular form—so long as it’s fit for a ball!
