Exchanging Footsteps

Sustainable Fashion Week kicks off with Exchanging Footsteps, a collaboration between Bei Qi and RECLÉM. Examining the immigrant and emigrant experience, this fashion experience will look at what we leave behind and what we gain when we move away from home. Exchanging footsteps explores the space between one’s birth home and one’s chosen home through art and fashion. BFA Fine Art senior Bei Qui’s collaboration with the textile upcycling and sustainable garment design brand RECLÉM, founded by Associate Professor Mary Ruppert-Stroescu, PhD, will combine with Bei’s wearable art to inspire thoughtful consideration of the multiple ways we piece together our lives.
